Client model
Improving Infrastructure Delivery: Project Initiation Routemap, Handbook, Version 2 June 2016, published by the Infrastructure and Projects Authority, states: ‘The Client Model refers to how the client organisation will structure and resource the responsibilities for project execution between the client, advisors/partners and supply chain (e.g. thin/fat client). This is a key consideration in determining organisational design and procurement strategy.’
Project Routemap, Setting up projects for success, Organisational Design & Development, UK Module, published by the Infrastructure and Projects Authority in 2021, states: ‘The client model refers to how the client structures and resources the project. The model will set out how delivery, transition and operational activities will be split between the client, advisors / partners and supply chain (in-house versus external) to ensure a successful outcome and realisation of the sponsor’s goals.’
